Another share of one of my MP3s. I set up a new one once a week and give you seven days to check it out. After that it will be gone and replaced by a new selection. Please don't link to this. Just click on the link and save it. Until I can make some money and buy some, if you get the message BANDWIDTH exceeded, just try again tomorrow. For this week:
Time for an olde (In Music Time Terms), way back to the early 90's with this song form A Tribe Called Quest. As I said before, I'm not a real fan of hip-hop, but I always likeed this tune. This is taken from the 2003 album called 'Hits Raritiess and Re-mixes", but the tune is still available on an 1999 anthology album of this group too. This one called 'Can You Kick It" hit the charts and I'm sure you have it in your collection too. Enjoy. I just checked and it available on youTube too:
Skip at 6:00 AM Google is so big nowadays, its very easy to lose track of all the services, products, and pages they provide us. Simply Google managed to summarize all of those things into one single page. Simply-Google.com is a roundup of every Google search and service out there on one convenient page. For those people who don't have time to learn the shortcuts or creating smart keywords, this page puts everything Google has to offer on one page. Check out Simply-Google.com and find some fun Google offerings. Also, check out Goosh.org. Stefan Grothkopp has come up with a pretty neat tool called goosh. It's essentially a browser-oriented, shell-like interface that allows you to quickly search Google (and images and news) and Wikipedia and get information in a text-only format. Back to basics. It's FUN! Skip at 6:00 AM Customguide.com has a ton of free "cheat sheets" available at here. These "cheat sheets" are PDF files designed to fit on the front and back of one page. They're eye-catchingly designed to cover all the basic functions of a software application. Applications covered? Generally speaking, programs from Microsoft, Mac, and Adobe (the guides cover several different release versions, especially for Microsoft Office programs). There are also cheat sheets for Firefox and QuickBooks. Skip at 6:00 AM Another share of one of my MP3s. I set up a new one once a week and give you seven days to check it out. Weezer have just released a new self-titled album. Since it is another in a line of self-titled albums they have differentiated this one by calling it "The Red Album". If you liked Weezer in the past you will love this one too. I'm sharing the cut called "Troublemaker". Enjoy it, and check out their video for the first single release from the album called "Pork and Beans" at YouTube:
Skip at 6:00 AM Directly from ForeverGeek.com: What kind of geek are you? Check out the Geek Code. Very, very funny. Skip at 6:00 AM Desk Drive™ solves a really annoying problem. You pop a USB thumb drive or DVD into your computer and then you have to open Window's Explorer and find the mapped drive or folder. Desk Drive adds a desktop icon pointing to the drive automatically. Remove the media and the shortcut goes away. Brilliantly simple and effective. Desk Drive sits quietly in the system tray. Configuration is just a click away and allows you to specify which types of media to monitor. So simple, it just works, and it's free. Download it today! Death Cab For Cutie have just relased a new album called "Narrow Stairs". They have done some fine work, in the over 10 years of recording they have under their belts, but this is one of their best. I'm sharing the cut called "I Will Possess You". Enjoy it, and check out the details on Wikipedia. Skip at 6:00 AM Friday the 13th — Paraskavedekatriaphobia The oldest known reference to Friday the 13th as an unlucky day dates back to 1307. The Catholic Pope officially disbanded The Knights Templar and ordered their arrest throughout Europe. The Knights were a dedicated order of Catholic Monks who had battled for Christianity and were known for their willingness to give their lives for their cause. They were arrested on false charges in a scheme devised by the King of France to gain access to their vast wealth. Over the next 5 years, the Knights were tortured and their Grand Master was burned at the stake in 1311. While these origins of the Friday the 13th legend may be speculative, it’s widely believed to be the first reference to the day as an unlucky day. Both the number thirteen and Friday have been considered unlucky. But don't be a victim. Just go with the flow and have a good Friday the 13th. Skip at 8:00 AM VISUAL BASIC 6.0 PORTABLE is, as the name implies, a portable version of Visual Basic 6. It comes complete with package deployment wizard, and VB6 runtime files. Beck produced one of the great albums of 2006. Called The Information, I still play this one many times a month. I've shared from this album with you before but here is another one of my favorite cuts called "Cellphone's Dead". Hope you enjoy it too. Skip at 6:00 AM Tech MSN has a link to PC World's list if 101 Fantastic Freebies. It is an interesting list with some real gems interspersed with some (in my opinion) so so offerings. Have some fun finding the gems. Check out 101 Fantastic Freebies. More than a decade ago such radio-friendly hits with sugary-pop gems as "Wendy Under the Stars," "Eat My Brain," and "Heterosexual Man" made me happy. I always loved "The Odds", sharing several of their songs here in the past. Now The New Odds have re-formed and released a fantastic new album called "Cheerleader". Now known as The New Odds, they return with a new guitarist, Murray Atkinson, in lieu of singer Steven Drake, but hold on to their same catchy hooks and quirky sense of humour. I'm sharing the cut called "Gettin My Attention". Enjoy! Skip at 6:00 AM |
