Mirrors

Side mirrorsLocating Pins
Sometimes I add locating pins to the mirrors when they may be difficult to place, or need extra strength. This will ensure I position the mirrors in the correct place, and make for a strong mounting.

I drill a locating hole with a #74 drill into the body and then position the mirror and mark the hole location on the mirror. I CA-glue a piece of 26 gauge wire into the mirror to serve as the locating before painting. When attaching the mirrors to the fairing after painting, I use Microscale's Kristal Klear, white glue or some other cement that will not harm the paint. You can even use a drop of clear acrylic paint, but this doesn't dry as fast as glues.
