BMW K100 throttle cableClutch and Throttle Cables
The provided vinyl tubing in the 1/12 kits for control cables is far too large for 1/12 scale. Locate some small gauge black coated wiring  about half the diameter of Tamiya's thin vinyl tubing. To install the wiring, remove the studs meant for the pushing the tubing on and drill a hold for the wire to go into. Route the wiring as normal and secure with a drop of CA glue. The added benefit of using wire is that it can be shaped so it can be routed properly and it will also hold its shape.

The wire in the picture is half the diameter of Tamiya's thin vinyl tubing and looks much more realistic.
