Release History
2000/09/26 - 700¥
In 1975, the Japan Ground Self Defense Force (J.G.S.D.F.) began to employ a 250cc off-road motorcycle for reconnaissance use.

The J.G.S.D.F. Motorcycle Reconnaissance Set is a very nice little kit. The kit contains a 250cc modern motocrosser and two J.G.S.D.F. figures. Tamiya doesn't mention what make or year the bike is, but it is actually a Honda XLR 250R.

The motorcycle is extremely well detailed for such a limited number of pieces. Too bad injection moulding can't provide better spoke details. Hopefully a Aber or Eduard will release a PE set for this kit. The rider is equipped with binoculars, Type 89 rifle, bayonet, flashlight and other highly detailed accessories.

Motorcycle completed December 31, 2000

Diorama completed April 30, 2004
