The kit calls for the gas tank and side covers to be
painted Maroon from their line of spray cans. Unfortunately the paint attacked the primer
I had used and I ended up stripping these pieces. Also, the spray can made an absolute
mess and now I refuse to use anything but an airbrush or hand brush for painting. I ended
up painting bike gloss black. I'm really pleased with the way this kit turned out.
Especially considering there was so much chrome that I dread.
The "gold plating" on the engine and around light housings is accomplished by
painting with Tamiya's X24 Clear Yellow as per instructions. I was amazed at how good this
ended up looking.
