Planning to Visit the Canadian Great War Sites?
I receive many emails from those wishing to visit the Canadian Great War sites of Flanders and Vimy requesting information regarding directions, places to stay, timing and transportation.
Since my last visit to region, I have written a 26 page booklet outlining suggested answers to these questions plus added information that may assist in making your visit more economical & time efficient.
Please click here for information on how to obtain this booklet.
This site has been developed and maintained to honour the memory of those who sacrificed.
May their efforts never be forgotten.

They shall grow not old
As we that are left grow old;
Age shall not weary them.
Nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun
And in the morning
We will remember them.Laurence Binyon, (September, 1914)
Please Support Canada's National Vigil Project
Each night at sunset, the projection of the names of the dead will begin. The names will continue to appear through the night until sunrise the next morning. The next evening at sunset, the names will begin again. This will continue for a week until the last of the dead appears at sunrise of the 7th day. Simultaneously, an online live webcast will ensure that Canadians from coast-to-coast-to-coast have an opportunity to mark the Vigil within their own communities.Taking place over a week of nights, the impact of the Vigil will only grow. The potential of involving Canadians and the media will also grow. With so many names, so many dead, so many families, so many memories, perhaps this is the least we can do.
GET INVOLVED — Contact The Vigil Project and tell them what your class, school, or local community is doing to commemorate this event.
