Golden Pheasant Press wants to hear from authors who have manuscripts or ideas for books. It doesn't have to be a thousand page epic. There is also a big market for short books containing hard to find information, like lists of holders of certain medals or reprints of historical documents.

Please read our submission guidelines carefully.

Before sending anything to us, please send us an email outlining in some detail the subject and nature of your book. Tell us what research materials (primary sources, photographs, etc) are available to you. We like to know a little about you as well. Tell us why you are writing the book. Do not send us your manuscript or sample chapter until we ask you to.

Remember Golden Pheasant Press specializes in books about historical research and collecting. We are particularly interested in works about:

medals and insignia
militaria
daggers and swords
personality items
rank and seniority lists
serial number references
facsimile period reprints
award lists
reprints of contemporary documents
hallmarks and manufacturer marks
unit or organization histories
military biography
military history
chivalric and knightly orders

Please note that we do not publish:

general fiction
science fiction
short stories
poetry
religious works
anything racist, political, obscene or offensive

Anything we get in those categories will have to be ignored. Too many desperate authors use the scattergun approach to submissions, and we don't like to take time away from working with the authors who do meet our criteria.

We are committed to replying to your initial email quickly. After our initial contact we'll let you know what we need to see next.
