The Early Music Fair

Each September, TEMC hosts an Early Music Fair, providing
early music aficionados and the general public a survey of the early music scene in Toronto. There are scheduled mini-showcase concerts, as well as displays for concert presenters, instrument makers and music retailers, plus numerous informal presentations by some of the area's historical performance enthusiasts.

The Fair offers opportunities to see and hear recorders and viols, early keyboard instruments, historical woodwinds, and other period instruments played by some of the finest musicians in the city. SRI Canada Ltd., (Canada's largest independent classical distributor) donates hundreds of CD recordings which are sold at this annual fundraising sale. Also, early music books and publications from Early Music Imports are for sale.

The 24th annual Fair took place on Saturday, September 15, 2007, from 12:00 noon to 5:00 p.m. at Montgomery's Inn (built in 1830, it now serves as a living historical museum), 4709 Dundas Street West (at Islington Avenue) . Admission was $6 adults, $3 students/seniors, $2 children (under 12), $10 family, but free to members of TEMC, Heritage Toronto, and Friends of Etobicoke's Heritage.

Please check back - details about next year's Fair will be posted as they become available.
