Special Events
From time to time, TEMC sponsors special concerts in order to
present visiting artists/luminaries in the early music field. The
next event will take place at 12:00 noon on Friday, July 11,
2007, when the Kiili Ensemble of Estonia will be performing at
Trinity College Chapel, on the University of Toronto campus (on
Hoskin Avenue). Admission is free.
The Kiili ensemble has been
giving concerts since 2003. Led by Heili Meibaum, the ensemble consists of 8 musicians between the ages of 8 and 18, who play recorders, flutes, violin, cello, guitar and percussion. Their repertoire consists mainly of music from the Middle Ages and Renaissance.
Musically Speaking
TEMC's Musically Speaking series is presented at the Church of the Holy Trinity (behind the Eaton Centre) and showcases some of Canada's finest historical performers, in concerts that are designed to stimulate and intrigue. These one-hour chamber music programs take place on Sunday afternoons at 2:30p.m., and admission is by donation (pay-what-you-can).
The 2008 Musically Speaking series is currently being finalized, with programs planned for January 13, February 10, March 9, April 13, May 18 and June 8. Please click the link, above, for details.
