The story was written on Microsoft Word (ver 7.0) for Windows 95. I am posting it as such because I have used italics in many parts of the story and plain text format does not support this. It can be read by Word ver 6.0 or higher, Wordpad in Windows 95, and I believe the Word file Viewer available from Microsoft. I think you can find it somewhere on their site ( www.microsoft.com)

An honourific is added when you talk to someone : eg. If I was talking to Usagi, I would call her 'Usagi-chan' or 'Tsukino-san'
As a general guide :
Now there are exceptions :
Family Members :
Now there are more, but I think this is all the references I use in the story. Note the use of the honourific on family members reference as well. Unazuki sometimes refers to her older brother Motoki as Onii-chan. Usagi also refers to Motoki as Motoki-oniisan (Essentially 'Big brother Motoki') even though there is no formal relation between them. This is common is Japan when refering to a friend who is older than yourself.
Japan's Military forces are known as 'Self-Defence Forces' and as such are forbidden to be deployed outside of Japan. They can't even participate in UN peacekeeping missions because it is in conflict with the 'Self-Defence' charter. While the military power Japan possesses is considerable, it is still merely for the defence of the Home Islands. Japan maintains a security treaty with the United States, who would be ready to fill the role of aggressor and intimidate any who why try to militarily threaten Japan.
Now to add realism to my story (Yeah I know it's fiction and all that... ), whenever the military characters are conversing, I have them using 'call-signs'. For example pilots pick some cool call-sign like 'Razor' or something and instead of by name, they are refered to by their call sign. Call signs are also applied to aircraft or bases, for example a flight of five airplanes might be refered to as 'blackbird flight', with each of the planes given a number; blackbird one, blackbird two, etc. In my story the central base airport is called 'Starbase'
Readers will notice that the helicopters and some weapons I reference are all American designations. This is because Japan purchases a great deal of hardware from the US, then modifies them for their own use. By using the US designations those who are familiar with the name know what I'm talking about. If your not familiar with them, I'm sorry but I don't have a scanner yet to put any pictures here for your benefit.
Again, for realism I've tried to use actual locations within Minato-ku where the anime is set (Juuban is a part of Minato-ku). So if you have a map or atlas of Tokyo you should be able to find the references I'm talking about.
Sorry !! But being Canadian I love the SI measurement units .... Well if you don't use SI here's a few conversions to imperial for you :
You'll notice that I spell 'honour' with a 'u' rather than 'honor', 'centre' rather than 'center'... That's because Canadian English is a slight derivative of British English... So don't tell me I've got a story full of mistakes, I wrote it that way !! The only time I use 'center' is in the arcade title 'Crown Game Center'
