Hey Dude, my discovery of your site just blew me away! Really, really cool, and well put together site. I'll return often and look forward to any updates. Any chance of more Mike Hammer TV info, summaries, etc.? Thanks for keeping Mike alive.

Mickey Spillane is to me the most consummate writer of crime. His style is simple and down to earth. His hero Mike Hammer is unpretentious and real unlike all the rubbish you find in the MI series and other commercially churned out crime series. His timing was perfect and his books came out at a time when the world is not so cluttered and messy with all the IT rubbish that has turned the world into a sterile inhumane piece of shit.

Yes my name really is Velda, I have the birth certificate to prove it. Mickey, I hope you get to see this message. I wrote you a snail mail letter several years ago and got a letter and autographed pic from you. I still have them. As you can tell, I have since married. But I will always love Mike Hammer. Any chance of you making a personal appearance in el paso any time soon?

It's a funny feeling, and I've had a few. I too feel compelled to buy Mike Hammer books from second hand peddlers - although I own all the damn things already. Every new cover gets me excited and every old one has me transfixed. Who ever it is who was e-mailed by Mickey Spillane must still be wearing the goosebumps a mile high. This site has put a whole new slant on a rough day, I'll drop by again.

It was such a relief to find your site! I, too, run a Mickey Spillane/Mike Hammer Web site, and I'm shocked to see there are so few of us out in Cyberspace... Perhaps we should band together and start a Web ring.

**Announcement** - Hi everyone. First off, my ISP's mail server has been down for the last several days and they are unable to even let me know when it will be back up. So for anyone that has tried to contact me, now you know why I have been unable to get back to you. Now for the big news. This site will be moving very soon, (I've had enough of lousy service) so as soon as I know when, I'll let you all know the new url. Thanks for all the comments so far, this site is practically the only reason I've kept the account active. oh well...

Hey I talked to Mickey Spillane tonight online. He instant messaged me. At first I did not believe it. But after a couple mins I knew I was talk to the real thing. Besides who would pose him anyway. Well anyway it was a really good conversation. And he is so thankful for all his fans and even more those who spend time on the web creating web sites about him. Courtney

Dear Mr. R., Great web site you put together. Love the back ground, and the smoking cigarette on the side. Funny thing; compared to other authors, I can still reread his books, and I am still compelled to buy his books from ever little used book store in town. Keep Gunning Down The Killers, Ariel M.

Navy and Mickey Spillane book, yep, me too. Remembering back, I thought that in 1976 I read a paper back titled "The Dog", about a retiring international hit man. I thought the author was Mickey Spillane, but I have NEVER been able to find it again. Anyone else read it? Mr. Spillane accurately writes about what is inside a man. Thanks Mickey!

Thanks for the site, Rocco. This is a "broad" who thinks Mickey Spillane is the greatest, a writer who can handle strong men *and* women. A seemingly impossible task for writers nowadays. There's a few real men and women in the world, but too damn few. I at least found my man. Here's to a real man's(and real woman's) man, Mike Hammer. Vel

Yes, yes, this is a fine site. Just wanted to add that the great filmaker Stanley Kubrick was an admirer of Spillane's and claimed his movie The Killing, was inspired by Spillane's writings. He credited Spillane with knowing how to connect with an audience.

I was surprised that Yahoo only came up with one site for Spillane, but then again I wasn't too surprised. The best things in life lie in waiting for those who are willing to look at the footprints in the road. Most people tromple on forward to the latest illusion with no regard for the history that brings their heroes stumbling onto the platform. Anyway, I like broads who pack heat, too.

P.S. If you're a writer yourself. Mystery Island publishes a couple of hardboiled magazines of pulp action segmented novels, as well as short stories, and poetry. The two titles we're accepting submissions for are Alcoholman (Pulp Fiction)and Headhunter (Hardboiled Poetry and Short Stories): PO BOX 465 Clarksburg, CA 95612. Editor, Bradley Mason Hamlin.

Wow! When I saw the guestbook I figured they were all old and that they were all over a long period of time. It's great to meet so many interested in him, esp. so many from different generations. I'm 31, as of tomorrow, been reading Spillane for ten or so years, and collecting his stuff. Just read the first three hammer novels this summer. Found Tomorrow I Die. Screen test is absolutely brilliant. It's got three act structure in a one minute story. Is there any way to create an updated list of Spillane's appearances. I know some people have met him at cons, but would like to be able to find a site that tells me where he'll be.

Hi, I love your site. I got a chance to hang out with Mickey back in '89 when I worked in book publishing and was his publicist on The Killing Man. Mickey came to N.Y. to do publicity and took me out to dinner for my birthday. We had a debate over how Mike Hammer says his, "It was easy," line. Mickey dragged it out, like Rocco described on the Home Page, and stuck up his middle finger for emphasis. But I told him that I saw it as more casual, laid-back. I wrote an essay about my experience with Mickey and got it published in The New York Times. It remains one of the greatest experiences of my life.

I was a fan of the recent Mike Hammer TV series (both CBS and syndication) starring Stacy Keach. I am an aspiring screenwriter who wants to learn from The Master (Spillane) on constructing believable plots for TV series I plan to write that will be inspired by Mike Hammer. That is as much as I can reveal until I sell my work to an agent.
