Golden lantern (cassia reticulata)

Catalog #44 - A member of the leguminosae family, and named from the greek word kasia, which developed from the hebrew word gatsa, which means to "cut off bark". It is a regal looking flowering bush with round oval leaves on spread branches producing an abundance of small yellow blooms. It is used in infusions, and liquid extracts. Dyes from the flowers, and syrups have made this species a popular herbal tree for centuries. It is also a herbal medicinal used in cases of arthritis and also as an over the counter laxative.
