Rumours from Toronto for Late August

International Embarrassment
People (mostly Toreadors) were very happy to be spreading this information around and laughing at Toronto's expense, until about a week ago, when in salons across Europe, exactly the same thing happened. Very high ranking officials of the Camarilla started making fools of themselves in Elysiums, acting completely out of character, in exactly the same way as did the residents of Toronto. Needless to say, the international harpies who made fun of Toronto quickly became silent when they themselves were the ones bashing their heads against walls and lashing out against their brethren in Elysiums. Soon after, most people came to the same conclusion as did the Prince of Toronto, that the whole thing was some kind of Malkavian prank.
But few find it funny, because these incidents occur in the middle of Elysiums, and they cause people to fight. And because these events have happened on an international scale, they have become more of an attack than a prank. So the leaders of the Camarilla have approached the Elders of the Malkavian Clan, who agree with the conclusion that these attacks are caused by Malkavians, but that these Malkavians are actually Sabbat infiltrators, because it is a little known fact that Malkavians in the Sabbat have the ability to make others go insane, where as those in the Camarilla do not.
In the week before now, there have been several manhunts of Malkavians suspected of pulling these so called pranks. They have been brought forward, and after short, brief trials (the details of which have not been made public), they have been convicted. Of course, those accused denied the charges, but their betters, the Malkavian Elders, as well as other clans with the use of Auspex and other perceptive abilities, decided that they were lying, and the accused were executed. As of this time, no one in North America who is part of this international scheme to make fools out of the Camarilla has been caught.

Organized Crime Crackdown
In courts across Europe, as well as some in North America, Toronto has become a laughing stock. This happened after the coronation of the Prince of Toronto, where high ranking members of the Domain began acting in deranged and strange ways, unable to control themselves or even stay in thier own Elysium. The Harpy's name has been banted about left, right and center as to how poorly organized the event was and how he couldn't keep things under control. And the Prince's name has been bantered around almost as much because it's his city, and his coronation, and everyone including the Prince was making a fool out of themselves.
In other news, the situation in Detroit is getting worse. The Brujah there are unofficially threatening to remove the Ventrue Prince by force, unless the Camarilla replaces him with a Brujah in the next three to four weeks. There has been no comment on this. Rumour has it that Neil Pendleton, a Brujah diplomat, is meeting in Ottawa with Etienne Dejardans, Chair of the North American War Council, to resolve the situation.
The death of a ghoul in London, England has provoked an escalation in the Ventrue-Tremere war there. Currently there is fighting in the streets, Elysiums have been suspended, and the Ventrue Prince is contemplating bloodhunting the entire Tremere Clan.
In local news, the papers are talking about the long awaited crackdown on organized crime. The RCMP organized crime squad has been co-operating valiantly with local police to round up those individuals responsible for bloodshed on the streets. There have been a few high profile raids, a few shootouts, and a few bystanders have been killed during these shootouts.
