Rumours from Toronto for Late May
Malcolm Deveraux, childe of former Prince of Manhattan, James Devereaux, has stepped forward to claim the throne of the city of Manhattan. His claim was undisputed by any Camarilla Kindred. Archbishop Liatro has repeated that Manhattan is his and the Ventrue have until the end of the month to leave or he will raise the city until nothing stands higher than dust.
The anticipated attack on the Domain of Montreal from Quebec City has yet to occur. None the less, the Brujah Justicar is continuing to maintain his position within Montreal.
The Camarilla has stated that it is not concerned about war at this time. They have seen nothing that would indicate that the Sabbat have enough of an advantage to win such a war.
The Toreador and the Tremere Clans both seem to be taking measures to ensure that they are prepared for an impending war.
Sabbat activity in New York has intensified. An individual was caught on film in the middle of a riot bearing his fangs and throwing a burning car down the street. This footage has not yet appeared on many major networks having been contained to tabloid TV.
Race riots continue in New York City. The fighting began yesterday evening as four well-dressed individuals walked into a brownstone on East 33rd. Automatic Gunfire was heard inside and three of the individuals came flying out of a window onto the sidewalk. Information is vague at this point but it seems that the two white men held down a black man and killed him, causing a riot in the area as gang members spilled out of several nearby buildings.
A young man was brutally murdered in the Bloor & Dundas area earlier this weekend. He was seen having a fight with a well-dressed man who jumped out from behind a building and knocked him over. The well-dressed man proceeded to bite him on the arm and repeatedly slam his head into the pavement. The attacker, a survivor of the restaurant shootings, is currently in Queen Street mental hospital being treated for post traumatic stress syndrome.
"From the Ground Up", an Arts Festival displaying the artistic culture of Toronto, continues. The festival has drawn much international attention to Toronto and organizers are getting kudos from around the world for their success.
The New York Stock Exchange continues to be unstable. A strong showing on the TSE yesterday appears to have stabilized the DOW somewhat but it is still shaky.
The city is mourning the massive slaughter of several dozen of its police force and several citizens. The police commissioner is at a loss to explain what happened as none of the survivors can remember any real details of the incident. It is still unknown as to whether the assailants are among the dead or not. Police believe that this incident may be tied to a massive gun fight in a Scarborough home which also killed several dozen people earlier the same evening.
United Health Services is making an appeal to the population to increase blood donations, and with two recent tragedies, blood is at a premium. Many of the survivors had lost a lot of blood and were in need of transfusions.
There have been two instances in the last two days of people spontaneously combusting on the street. Both individuals simply walked out of a building and burst into flames. It is said that one of them was ejected from the building he was in because he was getting violent and throwing a fit. Police have noted that both individuals were survivors of the restaurant shootings.
