Fringe religious groups continue to predict the end of the world within the next few months.
Several major religious groups are focusing on helping the homeless population of Toronto. The Catholic Church has opened several of its buildings as shelters, while the Anglican Church is collecting old clothes, blankets, and foodstuffs. Synagogues have been collecting monetary donations, and those of the Muslim faith are building an orphanage, as well as a shelter for the aged. All four denominations have separately gone on record as saying that their approach is the best way to deal with the current situation.
Hospitals report no new cases of Chronic Shock Syndrome, a mysterious affliction that causes sudden and extreme trauma shock for no apparent reason. Some individuals have suffered repeated episodes. However, in spite of the lack of new cases, hospitals continue to turn away new patients due to a lack of available beds.
