Rumours from Toronto for Late August

Toronto Shrinks
The Kindred of the Camarilla outside Toronto were stunned by the Anarch occupation of a portion of the City of Toronto. Reactions were mixed with some Kindred saying that Connal MacArran is again showing himself to be a weak Prince. Others are saying that he has shown wisdom in his actions. Whatever the case, the fact remains that the Domain of Toronto is in a very precarious position.

Nakatomi Turmoil Continues
The Nakatomi Corporation was formally charged on several counts this afternoon. Rumour has it that the company will begin to default on its debts to money lost from seizures and fines. The company's troubles don't end there, though: suppliers have refused to ship parts to their factories, creditors won't provide them with capital and their public image is in ruin. Experts say the company's decision to replace longtime legal council, Ballard, Ballard and Ballard, may have been the beginning of the end. Later in the afternoon one of the company's offices was totally sealed and several men were seen removing files, computers and diskettes from the building while employees waited outside.

Gang Warfare
There does not seem to be any end in sight for Toronto's violence-ridden streets.Organized crime factions from all over Toronto appear to be continuing to war in the downtown core. Several dozen bikers arrested two weeks ago were released earlier today. Over 200 innocent bystanders have been wounded, 24 killed.

Rabbi's Murdered
Two prominent Rabbis were murdered late last week at Synagogues in the Bathurst and Eglington area. Both figures were hung from the outside of the building, crucifixion style. Both Rabbis in question belonged to Synagogues that had almost gone bankrupt last month. Two other Synagogues in the area reported alarms going off the same night.

Theatre Repairs
Roy Thompson Hall has been repaired. Miranda Hanover, the Director of Roy Thompson Hall, issued a public statement yesterday thanking all of those people who contributed to the repairs with their donations of time and money. She also announced that on September 5, 1998, she would be performing with the Toronto Symphony Orchestra in a special fundraiser to benefit the Anja James Memorial Theatre Renovation and Repair Fund.
