Rumours from Toronto for Late December 1997

Bloodhunt!!! Vaniver Thomas, Prince of San Francisco, announced on Sunday evening at 8:00 p.m. that the Anarch known as Chuck was under bloodhunt within the Domain of San Francisco. He made the announcement to His Primogen Council, which had gathered at his request for an emergency meeting. It is suspected that other Princes in North America whose cities have been attacked will follow suit. Dr. Charles Madison, Prince of Toronto, attended a meeting with his Sire and Jordan Vainer, Archon to the Nosferatu Justicar, on the evening prior to the announcement. It is believed that the Archon's findings are what persuaded Vaniver Thomas to issue the Bloodhunt. The Camarilla is awaiting Dr. Madison's response as Chuck has been instigating terrorist attacks in Toronto as well.

Arts Council Appointment. Critically acclaimed dancer Arkady Fontaine was appointed to the Ontario Arts Council early this week. There has been no comment from Mr. Fontaine but other Council members have indicated that they are thrilled to have such an influential artist taking such an active role.

Jason Takhani Dead. Jason Takhani, newly appointed CEO of Nakatomi enterprises was found dead late this afternoon in his suite at the Sheridan Hotel. Police have not released any details but reports say that he was found sitting at his desk, and appeared to have shot himself in the head. Police have removed all of Mr. Takhani's files and his computer in hopes that they will reveal something about his death.

Organized Crime Rampage. Police have warned local residents to stay indoors as a result of several incidents that appear to be escalating into a full-scale war amongst underworld groups. After several members of the Cartel were gunned down in little Italy it appeared to be over. But Monday night violence began anew in the Jane-Finch corridor, on Yonge Street and in Little Italy. Organized crime specialists believe this is a result of a turf war between what they call the Jamaican Posse and the Old World Mafia families. Both of them have been vying for the Yonge street strip South of Gerrard.

Anarch Outrage! Anarchs in the regions surrounding San Fransico are outraged at the announcment of the bloodhunt on local Anarch hero Chuck. Camarilla Kindred are battening down the hatches in anticipation of retaliation.

United Health Services. RCMP investigations into some of the board members of United Health Services continue. There has been some indications that charges will he laid by the end of the month.

Divorce. High Society circles are abuzz this week with the news that Sarah Chevalier, head of the Tempest Agency, and her husband have obtained a divorce. Little is known about settlement terms except that Ms. Chevalier will retain all holdings in the Tempest Agency. Rumour has it that Ms. Chevalier has a new beau.

Funding Crisis. Officials at the Harbourfront Centre announced today that a proposed festival for Street Performers scheduled for the New Year and other similar events would probably have to be cancelled due to funding cuts to the Centre announced early today by the Provincial Government. These cuts have caused outrage in the artistic community, particularly because of similar cuts made to the operating budget of the Art Gallery of Ontario earlier this month. There are indications that further cuts will be announced in the New Year.

Nakatomi Reorganization. Before his death this afternoon, Jason Takhani announced that Nakatomi Enterprises and Wyler Family Enterprises would be undergoing a complete restructuring. The company has recalled all its voting shares at current market value plus an incentive. He stated it was possible that the company would reissue shares at some point in the New Year.

Labour Dispute. Construction Workers working on Arkady Fontaine's new dance centre have walked off the job as a result of conflict with the General Contractor. Unless they are back to work soon the opening of the centre could be delayed for several months.

New Appointment. Both the Public Works Commission and the TTC have announced newly appointed commissioners this week. The former Public Works Commissioner has chosen to take an early retirement and the former TTC commissioner has accepted a similar position in Vancouver, British Columbia.

More Flying Saucers. Three women in London, Ontario, report having been abducted by aliens. They report memories of being strapped to an operating table and hearing noise in the background. One is quoted as saying that it sounded like one of the aliens said something like "Ack Ack" before knocking her unconscious. A second woman reported that she could not remember any specific details after two men in dark suits drove up in a black car and flashed a funny red light in her eyes.

Sabbat Captured! A group of Camarilla Gangrel captured a Lasombra who participated in the occupation of the city of Toronto. The Lasombra was turned over to Clan Tremere for interrogation. It is hoped that some insight into the Sabbat occupation can be obtained.

New Claim! Lawyer Gillian Smythe has announced that a new claim has been filled against the York Foundation for a portion of Richard Tyler's estate by an Angela Lucia Corleone. Unlike previous claims this suit is based on a written agreement between Mr. Wyler and Mrs. Corleone stating that upon his death all of Mr. Wyler's business holdings would be transferred over to Mrs. Corleone and that in the event of Mrs. Corleone's death, all her assets would be turned over to the Wyler Foundation. Handwriting experts have verified that the signature on the document is in fact that of the Late Richard Tyler.

Garou News! Garou calling themselves Glasswalkers have contacted several Camarilla Kindred in Toronto. There has been mention that one of them would be attending Elysium in the hopes of negotiating a treaty with the Kindred of the City.

More Bombs! Sunday evening at 12:30am and 2:00am respectively bombs went off at the Queen's Park Legislature and in both a control tower and on a runway at Pearson International Airport. The bomb at the Legislature did several thousand dollars worth of damage but was still quite small. The bombs at Pearson were quite large and seemed to be timed to hit American AirLines flight 493 from San Francisco. Fortunately the plane was late and was redirected to another runway.

Crimes Solved in Record Time! Police are amazed at the skill of a newly opened Private Investigation firm. Raymond Bell has managed to solve several kidnapping cases very quickly. So quickly, in fact that police initially suspected that he might have been involved in the abductions, but they have since dismissed the idea.
