Rumours from Toronto for Early November 1997

Anarch Saves Prince! Vaniver Thomas, Prince of San Francisco, publicly thanked a former Anarch by the name of Randall Zane for providing information about an attempt on the Prince's life by the Anarch known only as Chuck. Mr. Zane announced shortly thereafter that he wished to join the Camarilla. Nothing else is known about Mr. Zane.

One Child Left. Police are very confused by the recent kidnapping/murders of several young boys. All of the disappearances follow the same pattern. A young boy between the ages of 8 and 14 disappears and is found within a week, having been poisoned. There have been no kidnappings in the past two weeks and the most recent kidnapping victim, Andrew McIntyre, has not been found.

Will Contested. Three private individuals have contested the will of the late Richard Wyler. Legal Council representing Shamus Munroe, Isabel Kleo and Ibrahim Halsten filed a motion with the probate court on Friday afternoon stating that they have a legal claim to both Nakatomi Enterprises and M.M. Hobbies and Games. The assets of both companies have been frozen until the motion can be heard.

Tour Continues. The tour of world famous Arkady Fontaine continues. After successful sold out tours in both Toronto and Erie, there is little doubt he will bring down the house when he performs in Ottawa tomorrow evening.

Angry Independents! Several prominent members of so-called "independent" clans have expressed a degree of anger at the ruling style of Dr. Charles Madison, Prince of Toronto. Rumours of Dr. Madison's distaste for both Anarchs and Independents have spread throughout the U.S.

Strike! Workers at the main manufacturing plant of Nakatomi Enterprises voted to strike yesterday afternoon. The workers are striking for better working conditions and improved employee benefits.

New Sculpture Added. Joseph Laclos recently added a new sculpture to his exhibit at the Art Gallery of Ontario. Mr. Laclos will be hosting a wine and cheese party this upcoming Friday evening. The event is open to the public but it is rumoured that a select few have been invited to a private affair afterwards.

Casino Opens. Toronto's first permanent casino is scheduled to open next Friday evening. The Casino will be located in Scarborough at the corner of McNicol and Warden, on what used to be Ontario Hydro lands. The land is now owned by Wyler Family industries and as such there is concern that it will be affected by legal disputes concerning Nakatomi enterprises.

Privatization Continues. The provincial government is moving ahead with its plans to privatize the province's blood supply. United Health Services, a new company, has been awarded the contract for the Greater Metropolitan area and has been given 2 weeks to provide the government with a breakdown of the structure of this new corporation. A condition of this contract is that a gentleman by the name of Dr. Gerald Kirsh be given a seat on the board of Directors, which is to consist of no more than 5 members.

Drive By Shooting. Mr. Jason Takhani, a member of the board of Directors of Nakatomi Enterprises was shot at on the street last Monday afternoon as he walked out of a meeting with Union leaders from Nakatomi Enterprises. Union leaders have denied responsibility on behalf of the union and have reportedly made the point that Mr. Takhani has done nothing but bargain in good faith, and he is their first choice as a representative of the corporation. Kevin O'Brien, a young police officer assigned to the negotiations, was killed in the shooting; Mr. Takhani received minor abrasions after being pushed to the ground.

$20 Million Dollar Suit. Famous financier Marty Phelps has filled a libel suit for $20 million dollars against the Globe and Mail in response to their implications that he was somehow involved in the disappearance of his wife and child earlier this year.

Drug Bust in T.O. Harbour. Police confiscated over $5 million in cocaine off a ship heading for the United States on Wednesday afternoon. The ship's crew is in custody.

Gang Fight. Three members of a Native American gang known as the Braves were involved in a fight at Trinity Bellwood Park on Thursday evening. Two of the young men are in the hospital with minor injuries, while the third is in critical care. Police believe the young men were attacked by a gang of Jamaican youths.

Tempest International. Sarah Chevalier, owner of the Tempest Agency, announced plans yesterday to expand her operations to include offices in New York, London, Rome and Los Angeles. The International Press has expressed curiosity at why she has not chosen to open an office in Paris. Ms. Chevalier has not commented on this matter.

Bomb at Queen's Park. A bomb went of in the office of the Minister of Education for the Province of Ontario late this afternoon. The Ontario government and press are blaming the attack on interest groups protesting Bill 160. The Camarilla rumour mill tells a different story. The bomb appeared to be very similar to those used by Chuck in San Francisco.

Conspiracy in Erie. Rumour has it that there has been an attempted coup against the Prince of Erie by several members of his Primogen Council. Several members of polite Kindred society have called Prince Richard Essex rude and uncouth for his handling of visiting dignitaries.

Territories Sold. In a surprising move, the Wyler foundation has sold off all of its remaining shares in Territories Inc. to the Cromwell foundation. The rumour is that M.M. Hobbies and Games intends to try and get a court order allowing it to sell its shares as well.
