This Elysium was unusual, in that some of the Kindred gathered were in a festive mood. One doesn't usually think of vampires as cheerful, compassionate creatures, but they were this evening.
The highlight of the evening was when Shamus, the former Prince, arrived dressed as Santa Claus, and gave out Christmas presents.
For Angela Giovanni, the missing head of Clan Giovanni in Toronto, Shamus
had a present that was a can with the label "Salubri In A Can" on it (the can
was empty).
Slicer, the Nosferatu Primogen, got a plastic flute. Shamus said that when he was in disguise at a previous Elysium, Slicer thought that Shamus was of Clan Nosferatu, and told him things he should not have. Shamus said that the next time Slicer wanted to sing clan secrets, he would have musical accompaniment.
Dieter, the Tremere Regent, got a pair of maracas so Shamus could "shake him up a little".
John MacClaren of Clan Malkavian got a large Loonie Bank, because he's Shamus' favorite Loonie.
Damian MacNaughton, the Keeper of Elysium, received a small ceramic mask that symbolized the Masquerade. Shamus "accidentally" broke it. As the Keeper, Damian took this personally and later handed out the little bits to people who were in danger of breaching the Masquerade, to remind them.
Isabella's childer got a silly looking ceramic bird, symbolizing Shamus' "stool pigeon".
Doctor Zangel, the Malkavian Primogen, received a toy microscope, to help him with his intense research.
Mercy Will of the Followers of Set received a plastic snake, to add to her collection of friends and allies.
Suzie, the Malkavian Elder, got a child's first reader all about frogs.
Duncan Frost, the leader of the Setites, also received a plastic snake toy. Shamus told him that they had a lot in common.
Isabella Munroe, the Prince, received a stuffed bear, because according to Shamus, the last time he gave her a stuffed animal, he convinced her that there was a bomb in it.
And finally, Kate LeClaire of Clan Gangrel received a wedding ring, and Shamus asked her to marry him. She accepted, and after Elysium, it's said that they escaped from the box and left for some southern destination. As Shamus was later quoted as saying, "No mere 'box' was going to make me spend my honeymoon in Toronto!"
