The Keeper of Elysium: Damian McNaughton of Clan Toreador.
The most significant event of this Elysium was the attempted blood-bonding of the Prince. The Sheriff, Locian Layfay, attempted to force to blood of Angela Giovanni into the body of the Prince using a thaumaturgical ritual. Unfortunately for the two perpetrators, their scheme failed, and the Prince ordered the two staked. While this was being done, Angela's bodyguard attempted to intervene, but he was bludgeoned into torpor by Kamen "the Prince Killer".
The Prince announced to those assembled that Angela Giovanni had betrayed her friendship, and so would be exiled from Toronto. The Prince would contact Angela's family in Venice and arrange to have her returned to them. And as punishment for betraying her trust, Locian Layfay was stripped of status and 'released' from his position as Sheriff. Thomas Spelling of Clan Ventrue was then installed as Sheriff, and pledged to honour the office.
There was some controversy this night regarding the fate of Jezebel of the Daughters of Cachophany. She had been destroyed by Isabella the night Isabella ascended the throne, and many questioned her actions. In her defense, Isabella stated Jezebel had been converted to the Sabbat in the time between the conquest of Toronto and her death. Isabella also said that Jezebel had been one of her closest friends, and before she lost her humanity, she had asked Isabella to protect her from the Sabbat. Apparently Jezebel's childe supported Isabella's actions. However, as Prince, Isabella claimed right of Destruction.
The question of status was also addressed. Under Lord Shamus, all status had been abolished, but at the previous Elysium, Isabella had given status to the Seneschal, Harpy, Sheriff, and Primogen Council. Isabella stated that before her reign, status had been given out like a prize, when in fact it conveyed responsibility. People were to respect status because those who held it were to have done something to be worthy of it, other than be the Prince's favorite. Isabella's declared the under her rule, status would have meaning again.
In the months since the conquest of Toronto, it had become increasingly obvious that the Sabbat did not have the ability or the power to create the Box by themselves. However, they did have a certain amount of control over it, because they could enter and leave at will. The entrances they used could be opened, closed and moved, but no one knew how. However, it had been discovered that the entrances could be detected by those who had the ability to astrally project themselves.
It had also been discovered that entrances sometimes spontaneously opened and closed all by themselves. In fact, on this night one of the Gangrel had stumbled upon such an entrance down by the waterfront, and had quickly spread the word within the Clan. By morning, only the Gangrel Elder was left within the Box, apparently because his clanmates could not find him in time.
