Your Majesty, Director of the Ventrue Clan, and Most Excellent Justicar,
I humbly and with great consideration make this petition on behalf of
the Alliance Coterie and the loyal kindred of that which was formerly
enfieffed as the Domain of Toronto, to appeal for aid to the kindred of
that place.
To wit, I request a loan of military force, that influence which is
reserved for true Elders such as Your Majesty, and the assistance of one
of your most Feared Archons to direct it, as I would not presume to do,
to assist in the retaking of that city, so it may once more be securely
enfieffed within the Camarilla.
Your Majesty is no doubt aware of the gravity of the situation;
Toronto is the economic and political heart of the Dominion of Canada,
and it is under the sway of the vile Sabbat. It contains three million of
the Dominion's thirty million kine, and with the proposed 'mega-city',
may expand to 3 or 4 times that, all under the control of our enemies. To
lose one-third of the kine of Canada to the Sabbat would seriously
undermine our mission of care to the children of Seth, and give our foes a
power base as great as that of New York City.
With consideration of the responsibility given me by Your Archon of Erie,
when he titled me a Crusader for my service against the Sabbat in that
City, I have gathered ten kindred and many ghouls to attempt to liberate
the city under the auspices of my coterie. However, the intelligence I
have gathered indicates that the Sabbat will have the strength of sheer
numbers and stolen elder vitae in their ranks. Thus, military support,
such as that gathered against the Lupines at Oka and elsewhere, would
give the venture a chance of success. Furthermore, upon Your Majesty's
servants' victory, Your Majesty would be well positioned to dictate the
terms of enfieffment for a new Domain of Toronto that better serves the
interests of the Camarilla, our Ancient and Excellent Clan, and Your
Majesty personally.
With my own humble station, I could offer nothing that Your Majesty
could not already personally acquire. and thus regretfully cannot offer
any presentation that could be meaningful to Your Majesty; even my life
is a paltry boon compared to your own Archonate. Therefore, I offer to
loyally serve your interests in the Dark City, putting all that I have at
Your Majesty's disposal and thinking of Your Majesty's desires above all
things in
this venture, to serve you as I have served my sire, Prince Edward of
Peterborough.
I realize, Your Majesty, that this is insufficient tribute nonetheless,
and so I appeal to your wisdom, your charity, your vision, your zeal to
defend the Camarilla, and your practical nature to grant my request. Your
Majesty
must realize that Toronto is a vital territory for the Camarilla to hold.
If Toronto falls, the Dominion entire might soon follow. With the added
strength, the Sabbat have already been so bold as to challenge our Domains
in Erie, Peterborough, and Dayton. The recovery of this city is vital to
the security of all Kindred in North America.
Doubtless, the judgement of Your Majesty is swift and wise regarding this
matter. I await the opportunity to serve you and be the instrument of
your puissant justice.
