Chestnut Hill

Information & Links

Our History

Chestnut Hill began in 1966 when Jack Reeves was asked to look after two Morgan mares for his boss who was relocating to the U.S. He was compensated for this service by being given a Morgan colt named Hippothous ("Hippi"). Hippi began Chestnut Hill. Next came Aristippi, Chestnut Hill's first mare. Born in 1968, she won her first ribbon at 3 months of age and her last the day before her death in 1987. With Greg riding, she was the first Canadian-owned Morgan to win a Morgan Grand National Championship. Her progeny have also proven to be multiple winners, namely, Chestnut Hill Elite and Erica.

Our Human Family

Just as Chestnut Hill has grown over the decades in the Equestrian area, it has also grown in the human way. Jack's two sons, Greg and Geoff, along with their wives, Carol and Charlene, are very instrumental in the training and showing at Chestnut Hill. Geoff and Charlene's children, Mitchell and Madison, are also active with the horses.
