About the artist: Western-style painter. Born in Tokyo. Graduated from the Department of Western Painting, Tokyo School of Fine Arts, in 1912. In 1914 showed for the first time, at the eighth Bunten. In 1924, with Kumaoka Yoshihiko, Makino Torao and Saito Yori, established the Enjusha. In 1941 became one of the founders of the Sogenkai.
