WELCOME TO
The Bionic Woman Poetry Website!

The Bionic Woman is a book of poetry inspired by the 1970's TV series starring Lindsay Wagner.
the steel door of the
Mustang, ripped from its frame,
a can of tuna opened
by hand,
two hundred pounds of
male muscle and brawn
thrown out the window

the LA phone book
torn in half,
a fire escape fifteen feet
over her head, leaped and reached,
a conversation heard
a mile away

I know my name and how I got these
legs and arm and ear

this very special body
is not only beautiful
is deadly

the lock gives way like tin foil
the lock twists and breaks
the very special body twists and breaks
the padlock

her bare shoulders
on TV

Written by Canadian author Julia Steinecke, in the tradition of Found Poetry and Deconstruction. Much of the text is drawn directly from sources like the actual dialogue in the TV show. If you're a fan of Lindsay Wagner or 70's Pop Culture you won't want to miss this! If you're into poetry and the underground publishing scene, pick a link and read on!
