Donations to Local Genealogical Libraries

Goldsmith of Prince Edward County, Ontario
Some valuable files belonging to Brian Harling focusing on this surname have been donated to the Quinte Branch of the Ontario Genealogical Society and are now on view at the Adams Research Centre, Ameliasburgh, Prince Edward County, Ontario
Hubbell of Haldimand Twp., Northumberland Co. Ontario - A large collection of files from the late Stan Lisecky were donated to the Quinte Branch of the Ontario Genealogical Society and are now on view at the Adams Research Centre, Ameliasburgh, Prince Edward County, Ontario
John Becker of Walsingham Twp., Norfolk Co., Ontario, d. 1814 - This person, who died in 1814 and was the father-in-law of Abigail Becker, the Heroine of Lake Erie, was long thought to be related to the Houghton Township Beckers, ancestors of the author. It has been determined that no relationship exists. Much information was collected over the years about this family and it has now been donated to the OGS Norfolk Branch library located in Simcoe, Ontario.
Abel Fennell's Journal
In November of 1998 the original handwritten docu-ment about his life from 1790 to 1871 was donated to the United Church Archives at Victoria University, 73 Queen's Park Crescent, Toronto and is viewable there. A 49-page literal transcription of the memoir completed by Brian Harling accompanies this donated memoir. The two Fennell publications mentioned earlier [no. 3 & 4] were also donated to this Archive at the same time.
Continuing Research Interests
Future Publishing Projects
The Nehemiah Hubble Family of Northumberland County, Ontario - a line which connects back to the English records of the very early years.
New Netherlands Ancestors (settlers before the 1664 British Conquest). A major publishing work is in process and will attempt to record data on four dozen surnames (all direct ancestors) in this community. Some of the major documents included will be on the:
DeMille Family of New Amsterdam and Ontario
Billeau (Bilyeu, Bellyou) Family. Pierre Bilyeu, a direct ancestor, built a home on Staten Island in 1662 which I visited in 1993. It is still standing and maintained by the Staten Island Historical Society.
Clute Family which, along with the DeMilles and the Bellyous is one of the three New Netherlands names that migrated to Upper Canada after the 1776 Revolt in the 13 Colonies.
The DuBois and Stillwell Families were related to Pierre Billeau in the 1660s.
Brittain and van Dyke are some of the other names that will be included.
Files Circulated to Fellow Researchers
DeMille Family of New Netherlands and U.E.L.s in Prince Edward County, Ontario. Six people in various parts of Canada pursuing research on the DeMille family wanted to review my collection of papers which are too voluminous to transmit by email or to photocopy. I instituted a circulating distribution for this entire file and it is in the midst of its travels around the country. When it completes this circuit, it will be donated, along with a GEDCOM, to the Quinte Branch of the Ontario Genealogical Society and be on view at the Adams Research Centre, Ameliasburgh, Prince Edward County, ON.
Rixon Family of Brighton Township, Northum-berland Co., Ontario has been circulated on a more modest scale to fellow researchers in Alberta, Canada.
