     The Canadian anime fanzine Protoculture Addicts has presented a spotlight on The Rose of Versailles in issue #45. It has an overview, a character guide, a synopsis for each of the series' 40 episodes, and also shortly presents the manga, the Takarazuka theatre adaptation, and the live-action movie as well as three essays by fans.

     Rene-Gilles Deberdt's webzine Cyber Namida has many articles on anime and manga, in both French and English.

     If you would like to learn more about shoujo manga, there is no better place to begin than the The Matt Thorn Page which has an indepth study of this Japanese literary form.

     There is also The Ring of Manga Classics for pages on The Rose of Versailles and other older mangas.

     Fredrick Schodt has written a new book for Stone Bridge Press on Japanese manga, titled Dreamland Japan: Writings on Modern Manga. It's a collection of short illustrated essays, with chapters on issues in modern manga, manga magazines, artists and their works, Osamu Tezuka, manga and other media, and manga in the English-speaking world. 340 pages (8 color pages) with B & W illustrations throughout.
