Jonah Sharp returns with an album that combines glowing ambient-techno pads with jazzy sax melodies (from two guest musicians). Thankfully none of the house stuff he's been doing on vinyl as Strange Attractor makes a presence here. The trip hop-ish elements of his past fusions is still the highlight, as "Freezone" percolates to cool jazzy breaks, and the funky bassline in "Microjam" sets a groovin' foundation for the smart idm sounds on top (and even a Stevie Wonder-ish harmonica melody!). Another highlight is "Compound" which features tuned percussive elements, like a Paul Schutze ethno-ambient track set to funky beats.
