Force Inc label mates Porter Ricks and Techno Animal do the mail art thing to arrive at this hypnotic eight track soundclash. Each duo used sound material from the other to produce this split release. Both groups remain faithful to their respective sounds, with Porter Ricks even loosening up from their usual house beats by absorbing a funk-ish TA bass line into the eq wash and clockwork rhythms of "Polytoxic 1." Techno Animal then respond with their favourite grinding electronic frequencies over the slow dark hop of "Hydrozoid." In this way the disc swings back and forth, from the murky minimalism of Porter Ricks to the spooky hip hop of Techno Animal, both united by a love of tweaking and a dub-like sense of a deep sound field.
