There are twelve resident Tanagers in Trinidad. Some of them are very common,
like the Palm Tanager which is found in abundance in home gardens.
The Speckled is a forest dweller and not too often seen but presents a dazzling
array of black spots on a background of green and yellow in bright sunlight.
There is a reasonable chance of spotting this bird off the main road past the entrance
to the Asa Wright Nature Centre.
