The Collared Trogon, together with its two cousins, the Violaceous and the White-tailed,
is found only in Trinidad. It is not uncommon in the Northern Range but this bird tends to sit quietly on
branches which may overhang the road and one could easily walk pass without noticing it. Fortunately,
it has the admirable habit of not flying very far from any one perch and this often gives the bird away.
