Executive Committee
The Parent Teacher Council strives to enrich the educational environment of our school. Through its representation on the Management Committee, Va'ad Hachinuch and Board of Directors, (the decision making bodies within Associated Hebrew Schools), the Parent Teacher Council is directly involved in all educational and administrative matters. As the voice of the parent body at these levels, it is vital that parents become involved so that their ideas and concerns are represented.

The Parent Teacher Council carries out several fund-raising projects each year to benefit the children's programmes; Siddurim are provided for each Grade 1 child at the Shacharit services; gifts are given to each Grade 8 student; treats are distributed to students on various holidays such as Chanukah and Tu B'Shvat and funds are allocated for computer hardware and software, as well as audio-visual and playground equipment for all branches.

One of the major projects, the school calendar, is available in June. The calendar provides important information on early closings, and Yom Tov (Holiday) and Shabbat candlelighting times. As well, the personal greetings and business advertisements are a major source of fundraising.

The Parent Teacher Council also sells sweatshirts, T-shirts and occasion cards. Order forms for the sweatshirts will be available early in the school year.

Cards suitable for honouring or memorializing someone, are available for a minimum donation of $5. For individual and bulk card purchases, please call Shirley Klein (905) 738-6245 or Helen Binns at the Danilack office (416) 494-7666. All proceeds support the school libraries.

Parent Teacher Council functions are managed by a group of volunteers who comprise the PArent Council. Whether working on the publication of the calendar, selling school sweatshirts, sitting on a committee or organizing a programme on steet-proofing, out dedicated colunteers devote hours of their time to ensure success.

Please join us as a member of the Parent Council. We look forward to your support and involvement. Together we can make a difference in the education of our children.
