For many children, Bet Hayeled is the first introduction to a formal
learning environment. We aim to enrich the whole child with a programme
that focuses on General and Jewish content in an integrated approach,
providing a framework within which a chile develops skills for future
learning.
To do this, we provide a highly interactive curriculum including circle time, art, indoor and outdoor play, math, music, gym, stories and dramatic play. Jewish content and Yiddishkeit are at the core of the Bet Hayeled programme. The children experience Shabbat and Holiday celebrations with songs, stories, prayers and blessings; they learn Hebrew language, Bible stories and about the State of Israel. In the Elementary Division, we provide each student with opportunities
to learn how to:• communicate effectively • solve problems and make responsible decisions • acquire the basic skills fundamental to continuing education • apply the skills required to work and co-exist with others • gain knowledge and acquire the attitudes needed for active participation in society • make wise and safe choices for healthy living • use technology effectively • develop appropriate personal, ethical and moral values • develop and maintain confidence and a sense of self-worth In addition, the Hebrew Studies curriculum is designed to impart a deep and thorough knowledge of Hebrew Language, Torah and Jewish Life. We aim to cultivate a desire to lead a full, observant Jewish life; and to develop an awareness and a sense of identification with the Jewish People, Jewish ideals and traditions, the State of Israel, the Canadian Jewish community and mankind.
