ASSOCIATED STUDENTS REACH OUT TO NEEDY WITH ANNUAL HARVEST FOOD DRIVE
CAMPAIGN NETS OVER 1300 POUNDS OF FOOD
Thursday, December 02, 1999
Associated Hebrew Schools elementary students recently joined hands with the North York Harvest Food Bank in collecting over 1300 pounds of food for the annual drive.
Students enthusiastically brought in canned and boxed goods from home.
The food gathered will be distributed to the city's various women's and youth shelters, as well as to several pre-natal centres.
Associated Hebrew School students have participated in the campaign for many years. It is one of several major charity drives adopted by the school annually. The other major food drive is scheduled for the spring, when students will gather food for distribution within the Jewish community in anticipation of the Passover holiday.
