Project Hatzlacha

Partners in the Future.

For nearly a century, Associated Hebrew Schools has been at the forefront of Jewish education in Toronto. As we look to the future, the challenge remains - to continue to lead the community... into the 21st century. This requires the same skill, vision and passion that has guided us to this point. Now, more than ever before, out coninued success depends on our partnership with the community. Associated remains sensitive to the needs of today's children and acts quickly to meet them. In the true spirit of partnership, Associated invites your involvement and assistance to help us meet the challenge of a new millenium.

What is Project Hatzlacha?

In order to facilitate this new partnership and to ensure that Associated has the resources to meet its future needs, we have launched Project Hatzlacha. This bold new initiative has already begun to shape the future of Jewish education in Greater Toronto. At its core, Project Hatzlacha is the active program of raising funds for the immediate capital and long-term needs of Associated Hebrew Schools. Taking innovative new direction, Project Hatzlacha seks to involve contributors and supporters in Associated's future. It aims to make the community aware of Associated's achievments and to make all those involved with the school - students, parents, alumni, faculty, administration and supporters - proud to be "Associated with Success."

Project Hatzlacha is our Future.

Project Hatzlacha has been designed to match the personal needs of a contributor with a variety of giving opportunities. Its aim is to allow contributors to meaningfully express their support by commemorating an event, making a dedication or arranging for a planned gift. The Building Fund assures that immediate capital needs are addressed. "The Associated", our endowment development vehicle, is comprised of three (3) funds which help ensure that contributions are used in concert with expressed priorities now and in the future.

Ultimately, the goal of Project Hatzlacha is to secure the future of Associated Hebrew Schools' physical facilities while assuring that the technological and educational objectives are met. As we look forward to the next century we are confronted by these realities and needs.

In January of 1995, Associated continued its tradition of responsiveness and opened the Jack and Buschie Kamin Education Centre in Thornhill. This state-of-the-art facility is surrounded by over 40% of Jewish elementary age children in Greater Toronto. The debt incurred to ensure Associated's presence and influence in a growing community, must be eliminated.

To continue to accommodate the educational needs of our students, funds are required to sustain our new Louis and Leah Posluns Education Centre.

Proceeds from the "Capital Growth/Managed Fund" are used to maintain the existing facilities. Funds may be applied to future capital requirements enabling us to sustain the physical plant well into the 21st century.

The financial demands implicit in continuing to develop and implement an innovative and creative teaching environment are as important as any capital requirement. The "Emerging Needs Fund" will address the needs of students as they strive for success in today's fast-paced information-based world.

Since its inception, Associated has made a commitment to meeting the Jewish educational needs of all segments of the community. Associated's "Independence Fund" supports the long standing pledge that "no child shall be denied a Jewish education due to the inability to pay." The fund may be used to promote academic excellence through awards, financial aid, scholarships, tuition incentives or bursaries.
